Always Making Disciples

At Stay Sharp 2024, we are planning to focus on the last sentence of Article 8 in our EFCA Statement of Faith, "In obedience to Christ's commission, we are to make disciples among all people, always bearing witness to the gospel in word and deed."

We've asked Greg Strand to address relevent theological questions:

• What actually is a disciple?
• How do we make disciples?
• How can we always bear witness to the gospel in word and deed?

It's especially difficult to always stay on course when there are so many "headwinds and undercurrents" that threaten to divert us from our disciple-making mission. Our churches are currently beset with "headwinds and undercurrents" such as election-cycle politics, deceptive worldly philosophies, and distorting theological trends. How do we always stay centered on the gospel when so many things threaten to knock us off course?

Come to Stay Sharp 2024 to discuss these and other related issues with other church leaders from across the Allegheny District.

Fellowship Dinner With Kevin and Becky Kompelien

On Monday evening, we will gather in Waterdam Church's fellowship hall for dinner together as a conference. Along with some District updates, we will get to know EFCA President Kevin Kompelien and Becky, his partner in life and ministry. If you are unable to stay for dinner, please communicate that when you register.

Credentialing Workshop

The District Constitution and Credentials Board will hold an optional workshop on Monday from 5:00-5:40pm.

• How to write your license or ordination papers
• Answers to your questions about credentials

Stay Sharp is provided as a resource to our district churches at no cost. Your continued financial support enables us to provide these events.

We will be taking an offering at Stay Sharp to help pay for the fellowship dinner this year and fund the ministries of the Allegheny District. Please consider a donation of $10 per participant (or $20 for those attending the dinner).
