Since 2017, EFCA ReachGlobal staff have greatly benefited from the coaching skills training provided by Dr. Terry Walling.

The IDEA Coaching Pathway is based on good coaching skills and an understanding of how God shapes disciples and leaders. Dr. Walling will be conducting the workshop in partnership with four ReachGlobal staff who have completed additional training and have been using this coaching methodology in their ministries in the U.S. as well as internationally.

This workshop uses a hybrid approach to training which allows you to complete the second day of the training on the Friday following EFCA One. The material which comprises day one of the training is provided via access to high quality, video-based training on the IDEA Coaching Pathway, which can be completed at your own pace in the month prior to the full day together in Fullerton. This method of self-paced learning coupled with highly interactive live training has a proven track record of facilitating better learning than the traditional two day “in person” approach.

The EFCA is excited to be able to offer this proven ministry resource to the entire EFCA family.

About the Speakers

Terry Walling
Terry brings thirty years of pastoral ministry, leadership development training and the coaching of leaders to his writings and resources. He leads the resourcing and coaching ministry of Leader Breakthru and teaches in the D.Min program at Fuller Seminary.

Bill Jones
Bill spent 33 years in pastoral ministry in the EFCA—four as a church planter and 29 as a senior pastor of two multi-staff Free Churches. During those years, he served in a variety of ministries in the EFCA, including the Spiritual Heritage Committee during the revision of the EFCA Statement of Faith, the EFCA Board of Directors, and the Trinity Board of Regents.

For the last five years, Bill has offered coaching, consulting, and training to international partners of ReachGlobal as the Director of Transformational Leadership Development.

Mark Revell
Mark serves as Director of Training and Development at the EFCA National Office. He is responsible for overseeing the pre-deployment ministry training process for missionaries with the EFCA. He also facilitates leadership development for ReachGlobal, and collaborates with international and domestic teams to create a culture of learning across the organization.

Mark has been a part of the EFCA movement since childhood, growing up in an EFCA church in Nebraska. After serving as worship pastor at The Springs Church (EFCA) in Springfield, MO, Mark and his wife Jodi, along with their two sons, moved to Budapest in 2010, where they lived for 12 years. During that time, God made an opportunity for Mark to serve as Budapest City Team Leader for ReachGlobal, to provide leadership for a Hungarian non-profit foundation that operates a community center in one of Budapest's most densely-populated neighborhoods and to serve two established Hungarian churches and plant a third.

Alongside his work with EFCA, Mark is a research scholar at the Oxford Center for Christian Mission (UK), where his research interest is related to church planting in Europe.

Jay and Kathy Pinney
Jay and Kathy have served Christ with ReachGlobal since 1987 in Montreal, Canada. They have been involved in church planting, leader development, coaching and church planter assessments, often working together during their ministry. They have four adult children and continue their ministry as part of the Montreal City Team. Jay also serves in the Global Equipping Division in the area of church planting.
