2027 EFCA Theology Conference

The EFCA Theology Conference exists to intentionally encourage and equip EFCA pastors and leaders in their personal lives and local church ministries through biblical and theological education for the sake of the gospel.

The 2027 EFCA Theology Conference will be held February 3-5, 2027, at Valley Church (West Des Moines, Iowa).

Conference Theme: Gospel Prophet: The Theology of Isaiah for the People of God

This year's theme takes a cue from John Oswalt, New Dictionary of Biblical Theology (2000), 217, as he writes: “There is no other book in either Testament which comprehends the whole of biblical theology so completely as does Isaiah. Here, the terrifying holiness of God is depicted as clearly as it is anywhere in the OT, but also, the unchanging grace of God is depicted as clearly as it is anywhere in the NT. Thus, in many ways, the book of Isaiah offers a summary of biblical theology.”

We will dig deeply into Isaiah through our plenary messages and our breakout/workshop sessions. Through these sessions, we desire to focus on and expound these wonderful, timeless truths from Isaiah in a timely way for the people of God today.

Preconference Theme: Divine Wisdom for Artificial Intelligence

This year's preconference theme is timely, pressing and with a need for guidance. Many churches either have or are developing policies for the use of AI, as have (or are) seminaries and most ministries. That does not mean it is understood. Additionally, the advances made in AI are happening so rapidly that developing a response with some guidelines today means they are antiquated tomorrow. Our prayer and plan is to provide wisdom from above for responding to AI below.
